letter that changed history


In his letter from a Birmingham jail martin luther king does a an outstanding role in trying to bring peace amongst his people. Dr. King responds to a letter he got from clergymen of the white church. The city of Birmingham is heating up with violence as young blacks sacrifice all they got for individual freedom. In the letter the clergymen proposed that Dr. King should not perform direct action in his civil rights movement. Martin luther king is a great example of a leader that will never give up hope and try relentlessly to accomplish his goals. King had four basic steps for his nonviolent campaign: 1.collection of the facts to determine whether injustices exist, 2.negotiation 3.self purification; and 4.direct action. " We will reach the goal of freedom in Birmingham and all over the nation, because the goal of America is freedom."
